Occupational Therapy

Occupational therapists work with children of all ages to help them participate in daily life activities or “occupations.” The typical occupations of childhood include play, feeding, sleeping, and participation in age-appropriate family routines. A variety of disabilities, developmental delays, and dysfunctions can interfere with a child's ability to develop competence in the occupations of childhood. Pediatric occupational therapists help children become more independent, playful, and healthy members of their families and communities.

Dietitians work with children with a variety of medical conditions, developmental dysfunctions, and family habits that impact growth and overall health. At Spectrum Pediatrics, out dietitians are trained in helping children and families develop healthy relationships with food and achieve wellness.

Kids playing in wheelbarrow

Maureen Basye is a wonderful speech therapist. The key to her success with my son is that he adores her. Jamey is so excited when he has speech therapy. Maureen uses that excitement and adoration as a motivation to make him speak. She gets several words and word approximations every session out of a generally non-verbal child. In fact, Jamey said "Maureen" before Mommy or Daddy!
