Infant Massage Course for Caregivers & Baby

Infant Massage Course for Caregivers and Baby with Ashley Glasser, MS, OTR/L, CEIM
Fridays, February 13 – March 13, 2015, 9:30-10:30am

Nurturing touch stimulates all the systems of the body, relaxes the muscles and the mind, and promotes bonding and attachment for you and your baby. Specific massage techniques can also provide relief from physical discomfort such as constipation, sinus pressure, gassiness and irritability. Spectrum Pediatrics is now offering a 5-week course with Occupational Therapist, Ashley Glasser, who will explain how to provide nurturing touch through infant massage. She will explain the importance of fostering communication between you and your baby through touch and will highlight the benefits of different techniques. Each hour long session will focus on specific massage strokes and their benefits, and will provide time for interaction and questions. The ideal time to focus on infant massage is from 6 weeks to pre-crawling, but there are still benefits for younger and older babies, so the class is open to babies from birth to 12 months.

Classes will be held at: Spectrum Pediatrics 2869 Duke St. Alexandria, VA 22314
