FREE Parent Workshop – Sensory Processing Explained

An Evening with Ashley Glasser, OTR/L
Tuesday, February 11, 6:30-8:30pm

Ashley Glasser

How do our senses help us learn? What implications do sensory issues have for interacting successfully with those around us and our environment? Please join us for an informative night with Spectrum Pediatrics’ occupational therapist, Ashley Glasser, MS, OTR/L, as she provides information on the basics of Sensory Integration and what happens when Sensory Integration is not successful, also known as Sensory Processing Disorder. She will also provide more in-depth information regarding sensory modulation disorders (a subtype of Sensory Processing Disorder), including over-responding, under-responding, and sensory seeking behaviors. Sensory diets will be defined, and examples of activities for the diet will be shared. A question-and-answer period will also be included in the workshop to target each parent’s questions regarding their own child’s needs. We are excited to see you for our first Parent Workshop in 2014!!

This event is FREE! To RSVP please email or call 703-299-0051.
